Rag pudding with potato wedges, peas and gravy


'As an Oldham lad myself, I was immediately drawn to this particular evening as it features one of our greatest exports (apart from Phillip Schofield) - Rag Pudding. If you've never had it - you're in for a treat, with a mixture of minced meat, onions and gravy all cooked up in suet pastry which is wrapped in a cheesecloth. The dish pre-dates ceramic basins and plastic boiling bags in cookery, and so the cotton or muslin rag cloths common in Oldham were used in the dish's preparation. The pudding will be served with chunky wedges, peas and gravy.

 You will be served a Large glass of Red wine to compliment the meal.

This wine will also be on offer for the night by the glass and by the bottle.
